Welcome to the California Department of Justice's Internet web site, which lists designated registered sex offenders in California.

This site will provide you with access to information on over 80,000 sex offender registrants. Specific home addresses can now be displayed on over 50,000 registrants in your communities. The site displays only the last registered address reported by the registrant. The law authorizes us to disclose ZIP codes but not home addresses on about 30,000 registrants. The Legislature has not authorized disclosure of information on about 20,000 other registered sex offenders, who are known only to law enforcement.

Once you have read and acknowledged the disclaimer on the next page, you may search the database by the sex offender's specific name, obtain ZIP code and city/county listings, obtain detailed personal profile information, and use our map application to search your area to determine the location of any of those registrants as to whom the law allows us to display a home address.

Not all sex offenders have been caught and convicted. Most sex offenses are committed by family, friends or acquaintances of the victim. Be sure to click on the link to the left for more information on How to Protect Yourself and Family.
